Latest Updates from Our Project:

Hurray! We've hit 50%!

We've already come so far and it's all thanks to the support from all of you. We still have a fair ways to go yet but we're confident that we'll make it. If you haven't yet, please consider sharing this project with your friends, family, and followers.  Word of mouth can really help take this project to the next level so we'd really appreciate it if you could help us spread the word!

On another note, have you ever been curious about how a comic is made? How about I walk you through it!  Here's some process work from my comic Fuzzy Black Mass.

These are the thumbnails I submitted to Bevan since he edited my story (It would be a bit weird if I edited my own!).  This stage only takes an hour or so, just loose scribbles to give the editor an idea of where things will go.  It also helps me plan out the beats and story breaks.

After this stage, I move on to roughs. I drew these at full scale (at the size pages would be printed at).  For me, this is hard work. Working out things like perspective and proportion, making sure all the shapes are making sense to me, and trying to make sure I'm leaving the right amount of space for the text. There's still a lot of detail missing because I don't want to spend too much time at this stage since I'm submitting this work to the editor for review, there could still be changes. There's a lot to consider!

Here we have the final page!  As you can see,  I've moved a few of the elements around, I've added a bunch more detail and typed out the lettering using a font I made from my own handwriting.

I'm used to working traditionally with paper and ink so this is one of the first comics I've ever made digitally. I must say it made a lot of aspects far easier and it was quite efficient. I prefer the look of traditional materials for my own work, so I've tried to make it look like it was done with a pencil using a variety of textured brushes.

I hope this was interesting to you. Stay tuned, I'll be posting more new art and process work over the course of the campaign.

I'm so blown away at the level of support we have received already for Through the Labyrinths of the Mind. This project is very near and dear to my heart and I'm beyond thrilled to see how successful it's been on its first day out into the world.  I want to give a big thanks to all of you for contributing, so here's some never-before-seen art for the book from one of our contributors Elaine M. Will.
